Value-Driven Leadership
Leadership is not an easy task! Especially when you want to employ a value-driven leadership discipline in your activities. It was (and still is) one thing that I had always in my mind when I had to lead a project and especially in my first steps! It was something that I repeated again and again, as my personal mantra, to help me focus on the important issues of the project at hand! And it is something that became a sort of a habit of mine!
Little Things
Little things can create a large disturbance! I had recently one such an experience with various, small things, went completely off the track! It was unexpected and it was very, very, disturbing! But the situation gave me some hints on handling peculiar situations and on the power of small things in our highly organized life!
The Strategy Of NO
In a crowded world full of messages and interruptions, “NO” is a great gatekeeper to safeguard your time, mood, effectiveness, and resources. It is important to know how to say No, but it is much more important to know why you have to say it and the when to say it!
On Resolutions
Resolutions are, these days, a must in many circles! What are you going to do for the next year? How do you going to lose the extra weight? How would you be more fit/healthy? What better are you going to do for your business? How are you going to improve your life? How better you are going to be for your family, friends or relationships? Questions and more questions! As if you are obliged to take some decisions here and now! As if the decision-making process is only reserved for this period ONLY. Well, rest assure! I have you some good news! Decision making is not, JUST, for now. Decisions, and especially the important ones, are something you should take, review and employ during you whole life!
Why You Need A Better Grip
Beliefs can be a tricky thing! Especially when you are thinking big! I remember the time when leading an IT project (a long time ago!) failed to see the difficulties it presented in its implementation. The problem was that I had depended too much on the word of our subcontractors to deliver on time a component (vital for the implementation of the project)! And they never do it!
Beliefs
Beliefs define you! During my business life, I have tried a lot of thinks. Either from a position in a business hierarchy, or from a personal point level. One of the most important lessons, I have learned during this time, is that your beliefs direct your thoughts and actions!
10 Keys of Empowerment
Some days are not easy! Nor are “user-friendly“! Such days can bring you many more challenges while you still have to cope with the “ordinary” things! You still have to go to your work, to pay one or more bills, to get the kids from school (or to take them there!), to find time for some reading, to go in the gym, to visit a friend, to see a movie, to meet with your parents, etc. The list never seems to get shorter! How would you find the extra energy, feelings and inspiration you need to cope adequately with whatever a day tosses at you? You simply, need to tap into YOUR keys of empowerment!
The Art Of Saying No
It is common in today days of the connected world, for you to have received many requests by various people. There are requests concerning you to read or write something, to check a problem, to provide a solution, to attend an event, etc. If you commit yourself at accommodating all these requests soon you would find yourself drifted away from your original plans, and burned out! That’s why you should learn how to saying no in a convincing and polite way!
SMART Goals
When it was the last time you set some SMART Goals? How did you draw them? How did you achieve them (If you do)?
What Facebook Can Teach You
I have started using Facebook, almost from the start, late of 2004 or early 2005, as I recall! At first, Facebook it was a reference in a study for a project I was involved, aiming, among other things, to the social aspects of networks of the time (as IT people we collectively labeled all these services as VAS – Value Added Services, i.e. services developed over the existing networks!). Later, I have involved more actively with Facebook, for personal and professional use. I saw it as an extra channel of communication and as a place that had the potential to enhance the collaboration and the interaction among people since it was in favor of peer group dynamics and connections!
