Value-Driven Leadership

Leadership is not an easy task! Especially when you want to employ a value-driven leadership discipline in your activities. It was (and still is) one thing that I had always in my mind when I had to lead a project and especially in my first steps! It was something that I repeated again and again, as my personal mantra, to help me focus on the important issues of the project at hand! And it is something that became a sort of a habit of mine!

Little Things

Little things can create a large disturbance! I had recently one such an experience with various, small things, went completely off the track! It was unexpected and it was very, very, disturbing! But the situation gave me some hints on handling peculiar situations and on the power of small things in our highly organized life!

The Strategy Of NO

The Strategy Of NO
After several days finishing writing this post, a mail by Chris Brogan on Focus, pointed at a book (The Power of No: Because One Little Word Can Bring Health, Abundance, and Happiness) by James Altucher with, apparently(!), the same topics as the topics covered in this post! I have not read the book (apologies to James, it is something I’m going to remedy soon though!) and I hadn’t in mind the book of  James Altucher when I wrote this post. But still, if you interested in the topics of this post, I would like to urge you to read James’ book! He is a very innovative and value-added thinker!

In a crowded world full of messages and interruptions, “NO” is a great gatekeeper to safeguard your time, mood, effectiveness, and resources. It is important to know how to say No, but it is much more important to know why you have to say it and the when to say it!

Why You Need A Better Grip

Beliefs can be a tricky thing! Especially when you are thinking big! I remember the time when leading an IT project (a long time ago!) failed to see the difficulties it presented in its implementation. The problem was that I had depended too much on the word of our subcontractors to deliver on time a component (vital for the implementation of the project)! And they never do it!

Beliefs

Beliefs define you! During my business life, I have tried a lot of thinks. Either from a position in a business hierarchy, or from a personal point level. One of the most important lessons, I have learned during this time, is that your beliefs direct your thoughts and actions!

What Facebook Can Teach You

I have started using Facebook, almost from the start, late of 2004 or early 2005, as I recall! At first, Facebook it was a reference in a study for a project I was involved, aiming, among other things, to the social aspects of networks of the time (as IT people we collectively labeled all these services as VAS – Value Added Services, i.e. services developed over the existing networks!). Later, I have involved more actively with Facebook, for personal and professional use. I saw it as an extra channel of communication and as a place that had the potential to enhance the collaboration and the interaction among people since it was in favor of peer group dynamics and connections!
